EVART — Evart’s boys track team finished a very close second to McBain in the Highland Conference track and field meet on Tuesday May 21, at Lake City.

McBain had 163.5 points while Evart had 145.5. Pine River was sixth with 62.

McBain won the girls with 186. Pine River was fourth with 76 and Evart fifth with 47.5.

For Evart’s boys, Kyle Stokes won the 100-meter dash (11.25) and 200 meters (23.10), Austin Hamilton in the 800 meters (2:06.79), Nathan Woods second (4:45.04) and Hamilton third (4:45.40), Hamilton second with the 3,200 meters (10:20.37), Cameron Brasington fourth (17.61) in the 110 hurdles) and fourth in the 300 hurdles (44.46), the foursome of Tanner Ryan, Kyle Stokes. Jaxon Todd and Haidyn Simmer in the 4x100 relay (46.27), the foursome of Ryan, Simmer, Stokes and Brasington in the 4x200 relay (1:36.74), Nathan Woods, Andrew Booher, Alex Hamilton and Austin Hamilton in the 4x800 relay (8:58.15), Mitchell VanScoyoc fourth in the shot put (41-0), Zolan Long third in the high jump (5-10), first in the pole vault (11-6) and Richard Foster second (11-6) in the pole vault and Brasington fourth in the long jump (18-10 ½).

For Pine River’s boys, Elijah Lewis was second in the 100 meters (11.25) and 200 meters (23.14), and first in the 400 (53.03) and long jump (21-1 ¾), and Rogan Nelson was third in the pole vault (11-0).

For the Pine River girls, Grace Beebe, Kendra Montague, Abigail Dennis and Sydney Edstrom were first in the 4x200 relay (1:51.17) and 4x400 relay (4:12.92), Montague was second (13.48) in the 100 meters and 200 meters (28.12), Sydney Edstrom in the 400 meter (1:04.20).

For the Evart girls, Mackenzie VanBuren was third in the long jump (15-11 ½) and third in the 100 meters (13.85), Kara Henry was first in the 200 meters (28.0), and second in the high jump (4-8). VanBuren, Henry, Sage Culp and Kylie Stokes were third (55.36) in the 4x100 relay (53.63).
