EVART — Boys basketball season ended with the state finals last weekend and many seniors said goodbye to the sport.

This includes seniors Nick Sylvester and Shane Todd, who were two key players for Evart’s basketball team.

Sylvester had 14 points in a win over Farwell for Evart during the season, and it stood out as one of his better games.

“To have success, we need to run our offense and take our time,” Sylvester said. “We can’t turn over the ball too much.”

Sylvester worked at finishing his game and post moves.

His leadership abilities improved.

Shane Todd also had one of his top games against Farwell.

“I was aggressive in going to the basket,” he said. “I was doing what I’ve been trying to.”

Todd was a strong free throw shooter in that game.

“You have to take your time, have good form and follow through,” he said.

Todd’s role on the court was to “play solid defense and work my butt off on the boards and do what I can on offense,” he said.

It was his first varsity season after being on the junior varsity.

“Everything is a lot faster,” he said.
