EVART  — Jessica Tea-Hui is a senior for the Evart volleyball team which had a win over Manton Saturday in the Highland Conference tourney at McBain.

The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Pine River Bucks in a dual match last week to end the Highland Conference regular season.

“They’re a pretty good team,” Tea-Hui said, adding that “teamwork, attitude and just playing to our potential”has been the key behind the Wildcats having more success this season.

They didn’t win any matches last season but won six this fall.

The Wildcats have usually dressed just seven or eight for a match, giving them only one sub during the match while other squads have had a little more depth.

“I don’t think it matters too much,” Tea-Hui said, adding that her strength has been her ability to move around the court. “I can move around pretty easily. I was doing good at hitting at the beginning of the season.”

The Wildcat played in the first round of the districts on Monday.

“We have to play to our potential for sure,” Tea-Hui said prior to the match.

Evart lost 3-0 to Beaverton.
