EVART — Kendra Foster and her Evart Wildcats have shown marked improvement from a year ago and hope to keep that going as they approach the late stages of the season.

Foster, a senior, is in her second varsity season.

The Wildcats have had ups and downs, sometimes in a single match. They were up 2-0 last week against Manton before falling in the last three games.

“We actually wanted to win the game. Our attitudes were up very good,” Foster said, adding that in the last three games, “we got down on

ourselves.”

Evart had won three matches up to that point after not winning one in 2012.

“Keeping our attitude up and not getting down when you make a mistake,” continues to be the key for the Wildcats,” Foster indicated.

Foster has been focusing on the back row.

“I started off as libero,” she said. “We lost some girls so I had to play all the way around.”

Foster said her serves have been a strength.

“Sometimes hitting too,” she said, adding that on her serves, “I normally go between front and back row, short and long. I want to get better on my hits.”

Hitting it harder and more accurately on spikes is a main priority for Foster.

“Keep your head up,” is the key for the Wildcats to have success in upcoming matches, she said.
