EVART — Nate Struble of Evart's boys basketball team was recently named to the all-Highland Conference first team.

Struble, a senior, averaged 10 points and seven rebounds a game for coach Kris Morgan's team.

Jacob Hopkins, a junior, had nine points and six rebounds a game.

“Nate was definitely the hardest worker on the team,” Morgan said. “He came every day to practice to work hard. He worked hard all year.”

Struble decided not to come out last season but made the decision to join the squad this season.

One of Struble's top games was his performance at home against Beal City which was undefeated in the Highland at the time. The Wildcats handed the Aggies, who went to the state quarterfinals this season, their first loss in league play.

Struble's point scoring was usually consistent, not too high or too low, Morgan noted.

Hopkins “is probably the most athletic guy on the team,” Morgan said. “He came up a little bit as a sophomore and helped us out. He has a real good shot and plays well.”
