Evart player having strong season
EVART — The Evart softball team has showed steady improvement all season and players like sophomore Ryenn Baumgardner have been among the many reasons why.
“We needed to work on some stuff like communication and working together,” she said early in the season.
It’s her second varsity season and she’s shown some improvement. She’s been hitting the ball effectively and has driven in some key runs.
“You have to keep your eye on the ball,” she said.
Baumgardner has been a second baseman and catcher. Fielding and throwing have been strengths.
The team “has improved a lot,” Baumgardner said.
"Ryann Baumgardner is a great utility player who can do a little bit of everything to help her team out," Evart coach Amanda Brown said.
The Wildcats are at Chippewa Hills on Wednesday. They are slated to host Evart on Tuesday and will enter district play on June 1 at Lake City.
