EVART — Evart’s girls track team was third, while the boys were sixth in the Roscommon Invitational on Friday.

Evart had 139 points for the girls, while Gaylord was first at 212. The Evart boys were sixth at 103, while Gaylord won with 197.

For the Evart girls, Mara VanOrder was third (13.85) in the 100-meter dash and was second in the 200 (28.4) and the 400 meters (1:02.53). Sara Nelson won the 3,200 meters (13.37.38), Lexie Fehrenbach was third (19:90.1) in the 100 hurdles, VanOrder won the discus (88-0) and Kristin Kullman was second (84-1). Alyssa Witbeck was second in the high jump (4-11). Fehrenbach won the pole vault (7-6).

“It was a real good night for us,” Evart coach Ken Willems said. “We competed very well. When they split it to big and small schools, we were second behind Roscommon in small schools.”

For the boys, Danny Griffin was first in the 400 meters (54.13), Santana Scott (4:44.39) and Josh Woods (4:55.87) were one-two in the 1,600. Scott won the 3,200 meters (10:41.21). Griffin, Josh Woods, Scott and Ben Randall were second in the 4x800 relay (8:55.30), Zach Parshall was second in the high jump 5-10). Scott Martin, a freshman, won the long Jump (19-4) and Cody Pritchard was third (18-3),

“The sprint relays ran pretty well,” Evart boys coach Dennis Peacock said. “Overall, we did well.”

Evart will be at McBain next Tuesday.
