EVART — Evart’s girls basketball team went on the road on Friday and came back from Marion with a 48-19 Highland Conference victory.

Evart was up 9-2 after the first quarter, 21-8 at halftime and 39-14 after the third quarter. Evart had a 9-5 scoring advantage in the final quarter.

McKenzie Kimball had 12 points, followed by Cyanna Dellar with nine, Brooke Belleville and Savanah Ross with eight and Olivia Hopkins with five.

“It started out kind of sluggish, then we got going,” Evart coach Paul Higgins said. “Offensively, I thought we executed well.”

“We started off in foul trouble,” Belleville said. “Then we took it over. “We worked a lot of on our offense. We’re getting to know the plays. “

“I think we need to work a little more on execution,” Macey Wallace said. “I think we could have done better than we we showed. But we were solid, and came out wIth fire.”
