BEAVERTON – Evart’s girls basketball team made it eight in a row with a 60-36 Highland Conference win over Lake City on Wednesday.

The leading scorer for the Wildcats was Addy Gray with 20 points, followed by Kyrah Gray with 15 points and six rebounds.

Emma Dyer had 15 points while Brooklyn Decker had seven rebounds.

As a team, Evart had 15 steals due to its effective pressure defense. The Wildcats had 25 rebounds.

“Tonight’s matchup was a pretty good one for us,” Evart coach Carrie Kunkle said. “Beaverton came out and played ups pretty tough in the first half. I give them a lot of credit. They’re a very young team.

“As a whole tonight, we were very well rounded in our team play,” Kunkle. “it was an all-around good game.”

Evart will be home next Wednesday against McBain Northern Michigan Christian.

Beaverton falls to 3-5.
