Evart girls fall in final Highland Conference dual match

EVART— It was Dig Pink night at Evart with both volleyball teams wearing pink to raise awareness of breast cancer.

On the floor, Manton had just a little bit too much net power and dominated other areas of the game for a 25-19, 25-8, 25-18 Highland Conference win on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

"We played excellent," Evart coach Katie Nostrant said. "They played really hard. I can't say mcuh more than that."

The Wildcats saved their best game for No. 3. Felicia Nelson had a pair of aces and McKenzie Kimball added an ace for a 10-6 lead.

Manton then took over the serving spotlight with Haley Taylor serving nine straight points, including three aces for a 23-11 lead. The Rangers were able to clinch the match moments later.

"I heard Manton beat McBain," Nostrant said. "I wasn't paying attention to what they were doing. I was coaching my team."

Kimball led Evart with four hits and had five assists. Cyanna Deller had three hits and three blocks.

"I think we kept up pretty well in the first and third," Deller said. "We've improved on our communication and seeing the floor. We just need to work on being more consistent with our communication.

Deller indicated it's been her best season.
