EVART — Cyanna Dellar scored 20 points while Brooke Belleville had 13 and Livi Hopkins seven for Evart (4-10, 2-7) in Friday’s 47-45 Highland Conference victory over NMC.

“It was a good win,” Evart coach Paul Higgins said. “It helps build some good confidence. In the second quarter, we carried it over and built up the defense. That was big, especially going into the half.

“The third quarter, we came out a little sluggish, but we fought through it. The fourth quarter, we kept fighting through it. At the end of the night, we came out ahead.

“Usually we stay strong for one quarter,” Belleville said. “But this time we lasted (longer).”

Evart was home against Lake City on Monday in a Highland Conference make up. The Wildcats lost 58-34 and are now 2-8 overall and 2-8 in the Highland.

Coming up, the Wildcats play at home against Beal City on Friday and are at White Cloud on Feb. 14 and at Manton on Feb. 17. The Beal City and Manton contests are league games.
