EVART – Evart’s girls basketball team fell from the ranks of the undefeated with two losses last week.

The Wildcats lost to McBain 51-29 on Wednesday. It was 17-1 after the first quarter, 27-9 at halftime and 41-17 after the third quarter.

“They had us scouted pretty good,” Evart coach Matt Tiedt said. “We had some open shots early in the game but they didn’t go in.”

Skylar Baumgardner had eight points for the Wildcats.

Evart lost to Lake City on Monday 44-40. Lake City had quarter leads of 7-6, 16-13 and 32-29.

Brooklyn Decker had 14 points while Baumgardner had 10 and Addy Gray nine for Evart.

Lake City 57, Pine River 19

LEROY – Pine River trailed 16-7 after the first quarter, 28-14 at halftime and 53-15 after the third quarter.

Hailey Wanstead led the Bucks with nine points, nine rebounds and three steals while Madi Sparks had six points and three steals.
