EVART – Evart’s softball team continued its drive for an undefeated Highland Conference title by sweeping Manton 15-0 and 15-4 on Tuesday (May 24) and improved to 12-0 in the league.

The Wildcats had 12 hits in the first game and took advantage of seven errors. Kate Gostlin had three hits and four RBIs while Addy Gray had two hits and one RBI. Skylar Baumgardner had three hits and two RBIs. Veronica Lofquist had two hits and two RBIs.
Gray pitched a no-hitter in three innings and struck out four.
In the second game, a 15-4 win, Ally Theunick collected four hits to lead the Evart win. Theunick singled in the first, homered in the second, homered in the third and singled in the sixth.

Kylynn Thompson pitched Evart to victory in the second game. She went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits, striking out nine and walking one.

Evart had three home runs. Gostlin hit one in the third inning and Theunick had homers in the second and third frame. Evart had 14 hits. Theunick, Gostin, Riley Brigham and Gray had multiple hits.

Evart is home on Friday with Reed City.
