Evart girls basketball team falls
BEAL CITY — Beal City held back Evart (1-6, 0-4) 37-30 in a Highland Conference girls basketball game on Friday.
Evart led 7-6 after the first quarter ,but trailed 23-15 at halftime and 28-18 after the third quarter.
MacKenzie Kimball had 10 points for Evart, while Brooke Belleville added six.
It was Evart’s first game back from the break, which might have had an impact, Evart coach Paul Higgins said.
”We didn’t play terribly,” Higgins said. “But at the end of it, you have to put the ball in the basket. We played hard the whole game. We didn’t execute well in the first half. We executed better in the second half, but didn’t put the ball in the basket.”
Tuesday’s scheduled game with Lake City was postponed because of the snow. There was no word of a rescheduling date. The Wildcats are scheduled to be home on Thursday against Manton in league action and at Harrison on Jan. 17 in non-league play. The Wildcats are at Marion on Jan. 20.
