Evart girls basketball coach resigns
EVART — Evart girls basketball coach Larry Brown said he resigned his position as of earlier this month.
Brown has worked as head coach for seven years.
He cited family reasons for his decision.
“My kids are kind of grown up now,” he said. “I still might do it if they can’t find anyone. I’m not doing anything this summer with it.”
Brown said he’ll still coach the JV softball team at Evart. He works for the intermediate school district.
Brown noted there will be some key returning players to next year’s team, including Kristen Kullman, Tabby Turley and Mara VanOrder.
“We have a couple of move-ins from various locations around the area,” Brown said “We just don’t have a lot of kids. We won’t have seniors playing. They’ll be sophomores and juniors.”
Brown indicated JV coach Jay Wallace will still have some open gyms during the summer. He added that the coaching job has been posted in the district.
