LAKE CITY — Cody Pritchard rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns, while Danny Griffin had 37 yards and Layne Nadig had 34 to lead Evart (4-2) to a 26-6 Highland Conference win over Lake City on Friday.

Pritchard had a 5-yard touchdown run in the first quarter and Carter Pritchard a 1-yard quarterback sneak in the second. A 35-yard interception return by Trevin Ladd set up Carter Pritchard’s touchdown. Cody Pritchard had a 44-yard touchdown later in the second quarter.

Nadig had a six-yard touchdown run in the third.

“I thought our kids played a really physical game on both sides of the ball,” Evart coach Pat Craven said. “We were able to establish a firm presence on the line of scrimmage, which helped us run the ball effectively. We were able to shut down their run game effectively and force them into things they didn’t really want to do and it worked out well for us.”

Defensively, Nadig had 10 tackles plus a sack. Ladd had seven tackles plus an interception. Josh Dorn had 11 tackles and an interception. Kartsen Allen had 10 tackles.

Evart (2-2, 4-2) hosts Pine River for homecoming on Friday. The Wildcats are one win away from playoff eligibility and two away from automatic qualification.
