Evart football falls

BLANCHARD — Evart ended its football season with a 42-14 loss at Montabella Friday night.

Montabella, with the win, improved to 6-3 to qualify for the playoffs.

“Our kids played hard all season long,” Evart coach Pat Craven said. “The same things hurt us. We were in the game. It was only 14-7 at halftime. Even with that, we had opportunities early on to take the lead and do some things. You turn the ball over offensively and negative yardage and negative plays offensively hurt us.”

Dillon Danley scored both touchdowns on running plays of 15 and 20 yards for Evart.

“Defensively, I thought we played pretty tough,” Craven said. “We gave up a couple of big plays. We kind of got worn down toward the end of the game.”

Evart’s final record is 2-7.
