EVART — Evart's boys track team was second in the Kent City Scarlett Small Men's Division with 113 points, edged out by Saugatuck with 115. The Evart girls were fourth in the women's division with 22.

For the boys, Kyle Stokes won the 200 meters (23.47), the foursome of Cody Pritchard, Scott Martin, Stokes, and Danny Griffin were first (45.23), the foursome of Pritchard, Ben Randall, Stokes and Griffin was second (1:35.1) in the 800 meters, Austin Hamilton was second in the 1,600 meters (4:47.99) Josh Woods was third in the 800 meters (2:07.20) and Ben Randall was second (6-2) in the high jump and long jump (20-2).

“Again, I thought we did pretty well,” Evart boys coach Dennis Peacock said. “Nothing ran very fast. It was cold, and a little windy. In light of that, I thought we ran well. Our distance crew continues to run well. Ben Randall had a good day.”

For the Evart girls, Macey Wallace was second in the 100 meters (14.05) and third in the 200 meters (28.63).

Evart was set to be at Beal City on Tuesday.

“They beat us here in a quad,” Peacock said. “They have a nice team and are deep. We'll have to see how that goes.”

Evart has the Lakeview Invitational on Friday.

“We're still waiting for a nice day,” Peacock said. “Especially for the sprinters, I think the times will come down if we can get a 70-degree day and the track is warm.”
