Evart boys track team rolls past Northern Michigan Christian

EVART — Evart’s boys track team scored an easy 111-48 over Northern Michigan Christian on Monday at McBain.

Tanner Ryan was second in the 100-meter dash (13.056), Micah Wetters second in the 110 hurdles (2.279), and Josh Woods (4:52.25) and Nathan Woods (4:55.69) were one-two in the 1,600-meter run.

The Wildcats won the 400 meter (46.468) and 800 meter (1:38) relays. Santana Scott won the 400-meter dash (57.37) Kenny Eastman was second in the 300 hurdles (58.635), Austin Hamilton was second in the 800 run (2:2.686), Danny Griffin, (24.085), Pritchard (24.385) and Wetters (24.8109) were one-two-three in the 200; Scott (10:15), Josh Woods (10:57) and Jacob Kleeves (12:32) were one-two-three in the 3,200 meters (13:24.00) and Sky Ranjel was second in the discus.

Zolan Long (9-6), Brock Witbeck (9-0) and Jacob Kleeves (8-0) were one-two-three in the pole vault, Witbeck was second in the shot put (36-7 ¾) and Ben Randall was first in the high jump (5-6).

The Evart girls lost 79-62. Adrianne Mooney won the 100 meter hurdles (29.67), Brooke Belleville was first in the 100-meter dash (13.6674), Sarah Nelson won the 1,600-meter run (6:27.06), and Nelson (17.04) and Maddi Drue (17-41) were one-two in the 3,200-meter run.

Mariah Fisher won the pole vault (6-0), and Mooney (4-4) and Macey Wallace (4-2) were one-two in the high jump.

Lake City Invitational

Evart boys were second at 98 points, below Lake City with 101.5, in the Lake City Invitational on Friday. The girls were fifth among six teams.

For the Evart boys, Cody Pritchard was second in the 100 meter (11.95), Scott (2:00.53) and Josh Woods were one-two in the 800-meters (2:10.12), Woods won the 1,600 meters (4:42.13), Nathan Woods was second in the 3,200 meters (10:43.48), Micah Wetters was second in the 110 hurdles (17.20), Josh Woods, Scott, Zach Parshall and Danny Griffin were second in the 4x400 relay (3:37.35), Josh and Nathan Woods, Austin Hamilton and Santana Scott won the 4x800 relay (8:42.07), Dillon Danley took third in the discus (121), and Randall was second in the high jump (6-0).

“Josh Woods had a PR in the mile,” Evart coach Todd Scott said. “Several of my distance girls keep improving. Kymberly Marone is doing really well.”

For the girls, Belleville was first in the 100 meters (13.65), Mara VanOrder won the 200 meters (27.79) and the 400 meters (1:02), Mooney was third in the 100 hurdles (19.62), the foursome of Belleville, Wallace, Allyssa Witbeck and VanOrder won the 4x100 relay (53.97) and Wallace was third in the long jump (14-6).

“Mara is progressing like we thought she would,” Scott said. “The big surprise is Brooke Belleville. She’s doing well.”

Evart is at Alma College on Saturday.
