Evart boys strong at Grand Valley Indoor Invitational

ALLENDALE — The Evart boys had a solid showing Friday at the Grand Valley State Indoor Invitational, with Max Hodges winning the 800 meters (2:04.66), Jacob Hopkins placing third (6-00) and Zach Parshall taking fourth (5-10) in the high jump, Jared Sherman finishing sixth in the pole vault (10-06) and Dylan Danley placing eighth in the long jump (18-08). The 4x600 relay team of Santana Scott, Micha Wetters, Zach Douglas and Andrew Booher took 10th (6:32.77) for the Wildcats.

On the girls side, the Wildcats’ Jessica Tea-Hui won the high jump (5-00) while Tabitha Turley was second in the 60-meter hurdles (10.22) and sixth in the 200 meters (28.86), Mara VanOrder was fourth in the 400 meters (1:07.05) and eighth in the 800 meters (2:43.19), Grace Hamilton placed seventh in the 1,600 meters (5:53.50) and 10th in the 800 meters (2:47.11) and Kristin Parson was fifth in the shot put (33-09) for Evart.
