
CADILLAC — Evart’s boys track team took first in its division Friday at the Gary Rathbun Invitational.
Danny Griffin was first in the 200 meters (24.04) and second in the 400 meters (52.30), Cody Pritchard was first (12:19) and Kyle Stokes was second (12.27) in the 100-meters, Josh Woods was first in the 800 meters (2:12.34), Santana Scott was first (4:41.78) and Josh Woods second (4:56.25) in the 1,600 meters, Scott was first in the 3,200 meters (10:18.91), Andrew Maxwell was third in the 300 hurdles (47.20), Pritchard, Dillon Danley, Joe Eastman and Stokes were second in the 4x200 relay (46.71), Pritchard, Danley, Stokes and Griffin were second in the 4x200 relay, Josh and Nathan Woods, Nick Niles and Scott were first in the 4x800 relay (8:57.17), Zach Parshall was second in the high jump (5-10), and Cody Pritchard second in the long jump (19-5).
For the girls, Brooke Belleville was third in the 100 meters (13.85), Mara VanOrder was first in the 200 meters (28.05), and first in the 400 meters (1:00.87), Belleville, Macey Wallace, Alyssa Witbeck and VanOrder were second in the 4x100 relay, Witbeck was first in the high jump (4-10), (54.36) and Macey Wallace was third in the long jump (14-5 ½).
Evart also won a meet at Vestaburg on April 12. Winners for the boys were Cody Pritchard in the 100 meters (11.88), Danny Griffin in the 200 meters (23.99) and 400 meters (55.47), Josh Woods in the 800 (2:16.23), Woods, Nick Niles, Randall and Griffin in the 4x400 relay (3:49.07), Josh and Nathan Woods, Niles and Scott in the 4x800 relay (9:21.96), Parshall in the high jump (6-1) and Randall in the long jump (18-1 ½).
Evart’s girls were sixth overall.
Taking firsts for the girls were Brooke Belleville in the 100 meters (13.87), Mara VanOrder in the 200 meters (28.72) and 400 meters (1:04.64) Sarah Nelson in the 1,600 meters (6:34.61), and the 3,200 meters (16:12.18), Tia McCauley, Kymberley Monrone, Madi Orue and Nelson in the 4x800 relay (14:07.31), Mariah Fisher in the shot put (23-08 ¾), VanOrder in the discus (76-9), and Witbeck (4-10) in the high jump.
“Mara continues to be one of the leaders with her first-place finishes,” Evart coach Todd Scott said. “She’s one of the better ones in the area. She just missed her PR for the state finals on Friday.
“Brooke Belleville in the last two meets has PRed twice. That’s hard to do in short distances on her level.”
Evart is at Kent City on Friday.
