LE ROY—Pine River will look to continue to be one of the top teams in the area after winning the district championship, regional championship and sending eight wrestlers to the individual state championships.

"We hope to build on our number of individual qualifiers this season and be confident that our team is able to close the gap and perhaps pass some teams that are ahead of us early in the year," coach Terry Martin said.

The team will be reloading after losing one state placer in Cayden Mys, and three state qualifiers in Wyatt Underhill, Phil Rigling and Rogan Nelson. Some players to keep an eye our for will be Ryder Holmes, who places fourth last season, and Bryant Wing, Jordan Nelson and Andrew Baldwin, who all were state qualifiers last year.

"Our team is full of hard working and committed athletes that are growing together as a team each day," Martin said. "We are this on numbers so eligibility and health will be crucial to our success."
