EVART — Evart was sixth and Pine River 10th in what would be their last appearances Saturday for the competitive cheer season.

They were competing at Evart in the 13-team Division 4 district tournament. The top four would advance to the regional round this week.

Breckenridge won with a 715.32. Hart was second at 701.94, Shelby third at 669.5 and Sanford Meridian fourth at 622.46. Harrison was fifth at 609.52 with Evart a close sixth at 608.74. Pine River was 10th at 524.1.

Evart’s scores were 183.9 for the first round, 157.44 in the second and 267.4 in the third. Pine River had scores of 164.1, 139.7 and 220.3.

“I thought we did an extremely good job in our round 3,” said Evart coach Marty Pattee. “We had a good round 1 and 2 as well. It was really close and scores were right. I’m proud with how they did.”

Evart cheerleaders were Raigan Clark, Ashley French, McKayla Green, Megan Green, Karley Gudding, Virginia Kunizer, Kelly Lloyd, Charity Nichols, Shantelle Nicoletta, Sienna Park, Jorie Pedery and Kamryn Struble.

“I think it was rough competition,” Pattee said. “We had some great teams here (Saturday). There wasn’t a clear (favorite) on who would qualify it could have been anyone. I’m pleased with my girls and how they performed.”

Pine River cheerleaders are Aubree Andrews, Bethany Brinks, Hunter Fauble, Andrea Gross, Anastacia Gugle, Hunter Fauble, Rachel Forbes, Megan Hammer, Kaylee Hunt, Lily Menzel, Erin Millen, Victoria Moored, Maya Mozden, Allie Peterson, Lauren Stevens and Sara Zimmerman.

“The girls did a good job, they worked really hard,” said Pine River coach Tiffany Lindquist. “It was one of their top scores for the season.”

Round one was her team’s best round, Lindquist indicated. The Bucks on the previous Wednesday were at Marion and had impressive scores, Lindquist indicated. She had no seniors on the team.

“That should be good for next year,” she said.
