Evart High School track meet not rescheduled

EVART – A high school track meet that was cancelled after a Farwell student passed out during the event on April 16 will not be rescheduled.

The student was rushed to Spectrum Health Reed City hospital after falling during the 3,200 meter relay. Evart High School athletic director Randy Kruse was informed last week that the Farwell student had recovered and was doing fine.

The coaches had discussed cancelling the meet due to cold, windy weather prior to the event and when the student passed out they decided to cancel the whole meet.

The non-conference meet was between Evart, Farwell and Harrison High Schools and Kruse said the three schools do not have a common time to reschedule the meet this season.
