Coyote senior ends impressive career

REED CITY -- Reed City's soccer team ended its season with a district loss at Ludington on Thursday.

Among the seniors finishing out his career on an impressive note was Max Selfridge.

It's his fourth varsity soccer season. He's always played defense.

"When we're all working together, we can hold the line and usually catch people offsides," Selfridge. "I have a powerful kick. That's what I would call my best strength."

Selridge said he doesn't get too much of an opportunity to score. But then again, it's not his actual role.

"I'm more of a get-the-ball-to-the-scorer type of player," Selfridge said.

The Coyotes won four games.

"According to previous years, we're having a great year," Selfridge said late in the season. "We're starting to work together and we're starting to score. We want to work on better passes and better communication."
