REED CITY — Reed City’s boys basketball team entered this week trying to cope with Mother Nature and get in some boys basketball games.

The Coyotes haven’t played since Feb. 4 against Newaygo. Last week’s Lakeview game was rescheduled for home on March 2 with a 2 p.m. JV start.

“We weren’t feeling real good physically and had some kids that were sick,” said Reed City coach Dean McGuire. “So this actually might help us out a little bit.”

McGuire noted that it’s challenging to get ready for games when they’re canceled earlier in the day.

“Practice was canceled (Sunday) night because of the weather so not having a game Monday was disappointing but not devastating because we weren’t able to practice last night,” he said.

The Monday home game with Chippewa Hills was snowed out until this Wednesday. Reed City will play at Hesperia on Thursday, The Coyotes are home next Monday with Central Montcalm with the start of a three-game week. The final week, Reed city will have two games. Also next week for the Coyotes, they are home with Holton on Wednesday and at White Cloud Thursday.
