Conklin set for strong senior season with Evart

EVART — Danielle Conklin is set to play a key role for the Evart volleyball team this season.

She’s a senior middle hitter for the Wildcats. She’s played outside hitter in the past. Coach Katie Nostrant has referred to Conklin as a “utility player.”

Hitting and serving are strengths for Conklin.

“I hit it hard,” she said. “I make sure my hand gets a good connection with the ball and I know where to place it.”

As a server, “I hit it hard and have them coming in straight over the net,” Conklin said.

She’s always looking for the weak spot at the other side of the net and trying to get it in that area.

Conklin played some volleyball at home during the offseason and said during the preseason the key was finding out more about each other.

“I think that’s going well,” she said. “We all know each other and we comnunicate well. The key in every match is probably more communication, working well together, knowing each other and being comfortable with each other.”

Evart is at Farwell on Thursday.
