REED CITY — Reed City’s competitive cheer team will be in action Saturday at Chippewa Hills. The Coyotes, under new coach Jen Worden at Cedar Springs Jan. 26

At Cedar Springs “the girls were quite nervous and it showed in their rounds,” Worden said. “Round 1 went well. I was impressed with that. We got hit with a few penalties for round 2 and I think that shook them up for round 3. We changed quite a few things last week. They’re going to do very well next week.”

Round 1 features jumps, round 2 gymnastics and round 3 mounts.

LEROY — Pine River’s competitive cheer team was eighth at the Farwell Invitational on Saturday.

“It was tough competition,” said Pine River coach Tiffany Lindquist. ”They did well on round 1. The other two rounds were rough.”

Pine River has two seniors with April Agar and Renee Cowley. Pine River is at Marion Wednesday and at Harrison Saturday.
