Pioneer photo/John RaffelREED CITY – It was a big day for the Chippewa Hills girls who ware 3-0 and the Big Rapids boys who were 2-1 in a four-team Central State Activities Association Gold track meet on Tuesday, April 12.
For the girls, Chippewa Hills defeated Reed City 110-13, Fremont 104-32 and Big Rapids 96.5 40.5. Big Rapids lost to Chippewa Hills and Fremont 68-63 and defeated Reed City 93-29. Reed City lost to Fremont 93-20.
For the boys, Big Rapids beat Chippewa Hills 72-56 and Reed City 70-57 and lost to Fremont 72-54. Reed City beat Chippewa Hills 72-47 and lost to Fremont 79-40. Chippewa Hills lost to Fremont 74-46.
Reed City had a second place from Lizzee Cockrell in the discus (76-1).
Reed City boys got firsts from Bryson Hughes in the high jump (5-8), Aiden Mieras, Logan Bregg, Aiden Storz and Seth Jackson in the 4x100 relay (46.28) and Dylan Schebil in the shot put (41-8 ¾).
“Dylan Schebil did well,” Reed City coach Brad Smith said. “Lizzie Cockrell was (second in the discus). It wasn’t bad for our first showing.”
