EVART — Third baseman Cierra Campbell is back for her junior season with Evart’s softball team and is hoping it will be her most enjoyable one.

But last season was a success, Campbell indicated.

“We had a good season last year,” she said.

Campbell is confident with her throwing and fielding abilities at third base.

She’s confident she’ll be able to rifle throws to first base to beat the runners.

“I’ve improved a lot from last year,” she said. “I’ve been working through the offseason.”

Campbell was happy with how she hit the ball last season. She’s looking to hit .500 this season.

“The key is keeping my eye on the ball,” Campbell said. She indicated her selectiveness on pitches has improved.

Evart is waiting to start its season. Two doubleheaders have already been rained out.

“I think we’re going to be good,” Campbell said.

The Wildcats have a home twinbill on April 13 against Maple City Glen Lake and are at Farwell on April 18. They will then have four straight home games with Harrison (April 20), Manton (April 25), Big Rapids (April 26) and tournament opponents (April 29).
