Bucks, Wildcats earn all league status

VanOrder, Powell, McDonald named to Highland Conference’s first team

EVART — Evart seniors Jarek VanOrder and Jesse Lang were among the Highland Conference basketball players to earn all-league honors this season.

VanOrder was on the first team and Lang picked up honorable mention recognition.

VanOrder averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds a game.

“For Jarek, he was Mr. Consistency,” said Evart coach Kris Morgan. “He would guard the other team’s biggest guy

Lang averaged nine points and seven boards per outing.

“He’s like a small forward but he played a lot of power forward,” Morgan said.

Pine River placed Mitch McDonald and Hunter Powell on the first team and Lincoln Erickson on the honorable mention list. McDonald is a freshman while the other two are juniors.

McDonald averaged eight points, four steals and four assists per game.

“He could have accomplished more had I allowed him more freedom,” said Pine River coach Scott Benson. “As a point guard, you get everyone involved.”

Powell averaged 11 points and eight rebounds a game. Erickson averaged nine points and seven boards a game.
