EVART — Cam Brasington has been a key player for Evart’s boys basketball team this season and hopes to help the Wildcats build off a 2-5 record as they return to action this week.

“We’re struggling,” Brasington said. “We’re improving a lot as the season goes on.”

Brasington is a junior in his second varsity season.

“My role has changed,” he said. “My role is point guard this year. I have to be one of the leaders on the team. I’m on defense, I try to run the offense as much as possible. I’m shooting the ball pretty well right now.

“Cam has responded well so far,” Evart coach Kris Morgan said. “He’s working hard at practice.”

Consistency is a key for the Wildcats.

“We need to come out and play the first half strong,” Brasington said. “We need four consistent quarters. We have to get better at rebounding.”
