REED CITY —  Meghan Borst continues to have a sound senior season for Reed City’s girls basketball team.

She’s the only senior on a team that includes a freshman and four sophomores.

“It’s gone very well,” Borst said of a season that’s at 7-7 entering this week. “I’m out there mostly for defense and to get rebounds. You have to hold your position among the other girls.”

On the boards, the Coyotes have been holding their own. Borst also has had key points in various games to help the Reed City offense. Putbacks has been a main offensive weapon for the Coyote senior.

“It’s been going pretty well,” she said. “I think we can get better. “We’re looking for our conference (Central State Activities Association Gold Division).  We could improve in any area.”

“Defense, hustle and playing hard” will be key against top teams, Borst added.

The Coyotes have league games at Grant on Feb. 10 and at Tri County on Feb. 14.

Their next home game is Feb. 17 against Chippewa Hills.
