Booher confident Wildcats can finish strong

EVART — Andrew Booher is among the Evart seniors hoping to conclude their football careers with a playoff appearance.

The Wildcats are 4-3 and play at Holton this Friday and close at home on Oct. 21. They need to win both games to automatically qualify for the playoffs.

Booher has been helping out the Wildcats at tight end and linebacker this season. He’s always been running in the plays from the sidelines and making key contributions.

As a tight end, “I think I’m a pretty good pass catcher,” Booher said. “I have to improve on my blocking.”

As a linebacker, “my strengths are pass reads,” he said. “I’m working on coverage too.”

Booher has liked what he’s seen this season.

“I think we have a real good chance to go to the playoffs,” Booher said earlier in the season. “We have to win out.”

Playing solid defense remains a key factor, he added.

“We have a new quarterback,” Booher said, referring to Carter Pritchard who took over the position earlier this season, while Trevin Ladd moved to tight end.
