Pine River hoops season comes to an end

MCBAIN – A poor third quarter for Pine River the Bucks (8-13) on Wednesday in this loss to host McBain. The Ramblers were up 11-8 after the first quarter, 21-19 at halftime and 39-20 after the third quarter.

Isaiah Dennis and nine points and nine rebounds while Evan Esiline  had nine points and six rebounds for Pine River.

“You're not going to win varsity basketball games scoring 25 points,” Pine River coach Brian Goodenow. “We did a very poor job of handling pressure, which resulted in a whole lot of turnovers. McBain did everything they needed to win - they shot the ball well, rebounded well and took care of the basketball.

“We are very sad to see the high school careers of Isaiah Dennis and Lukas Fisher end on this note, but it doesn't diminish their contributions, and I'm very grateful. We will have a solid core coming back next year and will work very hard to improve between now and then.”

Mason County Central 55, Evart 44
