The area Whitetails Unlimited banquet is set for March 17 in Big Rapids.
Pioneer file photoBIG RAPIDS – Whitetails Unlimited will have its Mecosta County Chapter banquet on Thursday, March 17, at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Club in Big Rapids.
Social hour will be 5:30 p.m with dinner at 7 pm. Tickets are $50 single, $35 for spouse and $35 for child, 16 and under.
Banquet organizer Randy LaPreze said proceeds from the banquet, which features prizes and auction, go to hunts at 2Hats Ranch for disabled youngsters and veterans.
“It’s a worthwhile cause, for sure,” LaPreze said.
The 2020 banquet was cancelled because of COVID while the 2021 event, originally slated for March, was pushed back until June.
“March is the time we’ve always had it,” LaPreze said. “This will be our 26th banquet. We’ve always had it in the spring. We want to get back to normal. We’re excited about it.”
LaPreze said other areas are having WU banquets.
