Reed City Police Report — 9/24 - 9/30 9/24 Officers responded to a business for an alarm. Upon arrival it was determined that one of the perimeter doors was unlocked. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified. Officers were dispatched to the Motel for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival the property manager advised that she wanted the subject to be served with a no trespassing notice and removed from the property. The subject was located and served and there were no further problems. Officers on patrol located a minor in possession of tobacco products. The minor was cited and his parents were notified of the incident. Officers responded to a parking complaint where a vehicle was blocking a driveway. Upon arrival the vehicle was moved. Officers were called to a check well being complaint. The complainant advised that her son had not returned from work. Upon checking with the work it was determined that the subject was working overtime. 9/25 Officers talked to a child at the school regarding harassing other students at the request of the School Administration. Officers responded to a person going to doors and asking for money. The subject was located and given a warning. Officers were dispatched to a residence for a trespassing complaint. The complainant advised that while she was gone a former friend had entered her residence and that she is no longer welcome. The complaint is open pending serving of the trespass notice on the subject. Officers assisted the Reed City Fire Department with a structure fire on S Sears St. Officers on patrol located damage to a traffic sign. Through investigation it was determined that a driver of a vehicle struck the sign and kept driving. The driver has been identified and the matter is being turned over to the City Attorney’s office for an arrest warrant. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was driving on a suspended license and with an improper license plate. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. 9/26 Officers were called the school for a disorderly student. Officers arrived on scene and were able to get the child to calm down. Officers were called to a residence to assist with a dementia subject that was being combative with family members. Officers assisted in getting the subject transported to the hospital. Officers on patrol heard a child screaming from a trailer at Young’s Trailer Park. Officers checked the residence and spoke with the child’s father. It was determined that the child was ok. Officers responded to an alarm at a state owned building. Officers checked the building and determined that the building was secure and the alarm was false. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on US 10 near 160th Ave on a traffic stop where the driver was being arrested for operating while intoxicated. Once the scene was secure the Officer returned to patrol duties within the city. 9/27 Officers were called the school for a disorderly student. Officers arrived on scene and were able to get the child to calm down. Officers handled a walk in complaint at the department. The complaint was determined to be civil and the complainant was provided with a course of action. Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle private property damage accident. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed. Officers responded to the High School for a possible malicious destruction of property complaint. The matter is under investigation. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating without a license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers stopped a vehicle for an expired license plate. It was determined that the driver was operating on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers responded to a residence for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant advised that two children were throwing rocks at the lamp globe in the parking lot and shattered it. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. 9/28 Officers in Wexford County located a subject that had a warrant for harassing communications out of the Reed City Police Department. The subject was arrested and lodged in the Wexford County Jail and posted bond before being transferred to Osceola County. Officers responded to a dog at large complaint. The dog was captured and taken to the Osceola County Animal Control Shelter. Officers were called to a business for a retail fraud complaint involving two juveniles that had stolen candy and a lighter. The subjects were identified and located. The parents of the juveniles were contacted and the matter is being turned over to Probate Court. Officers assisted the Michigan State Police and the Evart Police Department on a combative subject at the Hospital in their custody. Once the scene was secure the Officer resumed patrol duties. Officers on patrol located a barking dog. The dog owner was given a warning. Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was contacted. 9/29 Officers responded to an area check for a child throwing stones at a house. Upon arrival it was determined that the child lived at the house. Officers were dispatched to the Elementary School for a call of three juveniles throwing rocks at an outdoor light and pulling a window screen from one of the windows. Officers arrived on scene and located the subjects. All three subjects were advised to return home and contact is being made with their parents. The matter has been submitted to Probate Court for action. Officers assisted Lake County Sheriff’s Department in looking for two inmates that had escaped from the TRV Center in Baldwin. Officers were stationed on US 10 looking for the subjects. Officers assisted the Reed City Fire Department with a suspicious brush fire at the Rocket Football Field on 225th Ave. The matter is under investigation. Officers on patrol located an open door at the Rocket Football Field Concession Stand. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified. 9/30 Officers responded to an apartment complex for a threats complaint involving the complainant’s children’s father. A report was completed and the matter is being referred to Child Protective Services. Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up call on 175th Ave. There were no State Police of Sheriff Units available to respond. Upon arrival it was determined that it was a malfunction with the phone line. Evart Police Report — 9/24 - 9/30 9/24 An officer was dispatched to assist two other departments on two complaints outside the city. 9/25 An officer was dispatched to an animal at large complaint. The animal was released unharmed. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a disturbance. The officer spoke to the complainant and the suspect. The officer cleared the scene without incident. 9/26 An officer was dispatched to a business reference a larceny complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation. An officer was dispatched to assist an outside agency on a complaint. An officer was dispatched to a business reference a fraud complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation. The case is closed. 9/29 While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges. An officer was dispatched to a business reference a larceny complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation. An officer conducted a traffic stop which resulted in a minor being cited for an alcohol offense. 9/30 An officer was dispatched to a one car property damage accident, there were no injuries. An officer was dispatched to several Malicious Destruction of Property complaints. The cases remain open pending further investigation.
