Victims testify at armed robbery preliminary hearing
REED CITY — "Two guys came in the house wearing mask, shouting vulgar language and pointing their guns at us," Allison Ghent said on Thursday in Osceola County's 77th District Court.
Ghent, is a victim and witness to an alleged assault and armed robbery that occurred in Reed City at the residence of Aaron Haight.
During Clifford White's preliminary hearing — one of the men arrested in the case — Ghent testified she was frightened from being shoved around and having a gun pointed at her.
Haight described White, 33, as the aggressor and his accomplice Kory York, 20, was the man taking orders. Each witness described White as a large, stocky man and York as a thinner and smaller man.
"They came into my house and pushed me around," Haight said. "I was hit on the back of the head with his gun and I was lying on the floor with a gun to my head."
Haight said the men entered his home and stole his medical marijuana. Ghent said she saw White's face because his mask moved revealing his identity to her. Both Ghent and Haight said York was easily identified by his voice and posture.
According to court documents, the robbery occurred on Nov. 19. Following the investigation, officers from the Reed City Police Department arrested White for armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment, possession of a firearm during a crime and felon in possession of a firearm.
Officers also arrested York for armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment at the same time of White's arrest.
White's preliminary hearing in district court will continue at a later date that has yet to be scheduled. York also is yet to be scheduled for his preliminary hearing.
White and York remain lodged at the Osceola County Jail, each on a $750,000 bond.
