The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week.  The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.

● Deputies were dispatched to Hersey Township on the report of a possible poaching complaint.  Upon arrival the deputies suspicions were verified as a deceased deer was located at the scene, and through investigation the deputies located the suspects and completed interviews.  The deputies completed their investigation, which involved confiscating a firearm, and forwarded this case to the prosecutor’s office for charges.

● Deputies responded to a Leroy Township home, and arrested a subject on a valid felony warrant, which was issued out of the Osceola County Courts.  The subject was taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Lincoln Township vehicle for failing to display a valid registration plate and an equipment violation.  Through investigation it was discovered that said operator was driving their vehicle without a registration plate and without insurance.  The operator was issued 2 misdemeanor citations for this offence, and said vehicle was towed from the scene.

● While on patrol within Leroy Township, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired registration plate.  Through investigation it was determined that said operator was also driving their vehicle without insurance.  At that time the operator was issued two misdemeanor citations for this offence, while the vehicle was towed from the scene.

● Deputies responded to a Middle Branch Township home and arrested two subjects on  felony and misdemeanor warrants, which were issued out of the Osceola County Courts.  The subjects were arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes, which occurred within Evart, Richmond, Highland and Hersey Townships.

● A Deputy investigated a larceny of fuel complaint, which occurred at a Burdell Township business.  Upon arrival the deputy discovered that an older, maroon colored Oldsmobile sedan pumped 15.12 gallons of fuel, and left the business without paying for said fuel.  The deputy completed his investigation and cleared the scene once his assistance was no longer needed.

● A deputy was dispatched to Burdell Township on the report of a suspicious female walking down the roadway.  Upon arrival the deputy meticulously patrolled the area, however was unable to locate said subject.

● A deputy was dispatched to the Marion Village apartments on the report of a well-being check, as the caller feared her daughter was in trouble, the daughter was moving out of the apartment, feared there would be problems, and now her daughter was not answering her phone.  Upon arrival the deputy spoke with both residents and determined that everyone was OK.  The deputy then stood by while another subject responded to the apartment, and then cleared once his assistance was no longer needed.

● Deputies responded to a Rose Lake Township home and arrested a subject on a valid felony warrant, which was issued out of the Osceola County Courts.  The subject was taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● While on patrol within Leroy Township, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for driving in the wrong lane of travel.  Through investigation it was discovered that the driver was operating their vehicle while intoxicated (first offence), driving while license suspended (second offence), transporting open intoxicants and in possession of suspected marijuana.  The driver was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
