Robbery suspects apprehended in Reed City

REED CITY — Two suspects are in custody following an alleged incident of armed robbery and assault that occurred last week in a Reed City residence.

On Nov. 21, a victim came forward to the Reed City Police Department reporting she was at a friend’s house in Reed City on the night of Nov. 19 when two suspects entered the house armed with handguns and stole personal property that was inside the home. The victim reported that her friend was assaulted by the suspects.

Following the investigation, officers from the Reed City Police Department arrested 33-year-old Cliford Daniel White on Friday for armed robbery, unlawful imprisonment, possession of a firearm during a crime and felon in possession of a firearm.

Officers also arrested 20-year-old Kory Lee York for armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment.

White and York remain lodged at the Osceola County Jail, each on a $750,000 bond.

Officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Green Township located in Mecosta County on Saturday and additional evidence and stolen items from the robberies were recovered.

Additional charges are pending for others involved in the incident. The incident remains under investigation.

Officers were assisted at by the Michigan State Police – Reed City Detachment, the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety and the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.
