Officers continue to perform property inspections and serve the appropriate abatement paperwork for those in violation of the Reed City Ordinances for Tall Grass, Trash and Vehicles thought out the week.

9/5

  • Officers issued an appearance citation to a 59-year-old person operating without valid insurance and for having an expired plate. The vehicle was impounded.
  • While performing a traffic stop for improper use of a registration plate, officers also found the 51-year-old male driver to be driving without any auto insurance and also had an open intoxicant in the vehicle. The individual was arrested then transported to the Osceola County Jail and lodged without incident.
  • Officers were dispatched to a local apartment complex regarding a group of juveniles ringing doorbells and running off. Officers located the parents, who stated that it won’t happen again. Case closed.
  • Officers were dispatched to a local residence regarding a suspicious situation. The caller stated he observed a man walking around the outside of the neighbor’s house in the dark with a flash light, then left on foot. Officers found nothing out of the norm and continued to watch the area though out the night.

  • The School Liaison Officer submitted a warrant request for the larceny of a student’s stolen cellphone. The matter remains open pending the prosecuting attorney’s review.

  • Officers were dispatched to assist the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) into an elderly women’s home. The woman had fallen while in the shower, but was able to communicate that the doors were locked so the best entrance was though a window. The responding officer was able to enter though the window and unlock the doors allowing the EMS crew to enter and assist the woman.
  • Officers were dispatched to a local residence regarding a missing bicycle. The bicycle has since been returned and the matter is closed.

  • Officers were dispatched to a local apartment complex regarding a suspicious smell inside one of the apartments. Officers were unable to confirm the smell to be of illegal substance as reported. The tenant’s probation officer was advised of the situation.
  • Officers were dispatched to local business regarding a suspicious situation. The caller stated that the door was open and no one was inside. Officers found the owner had temporary left the building and returned. Case closed.
  • Officers were dispatched to local business regarding a disorderly customer. The 51-year-old male customer was upset that the lotto computer listed his winnings as half of what he thought. Officers explained to him why he had not won the amount he thought and the man apologized and left with his winnings.
  • While performing a traffic stop for a loud exhaust, officers found the 51-year-male driver had a warrant out of Wexford County. He was issued a citation for driving defective equipment, no proof of vehicle insurance and improper transport of a firearm. Officers arrested the man and transported him to the Osceola County Jail to be lodged pending pickup from Wexford County.

  • A probation officer requested the arrest of 21-year-old male who was in violation of his probation. The individual was arrested, transported and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • While performing a traffic stop, officers found the 35-year-old driver to be operating a vehicle with an expired registration and no insurance. He was arrested for operating without insurance and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

  • Officers were dispatched to local apartment complex to assist with a possible fire inside a light fixture. Officers remained on scene until the Reed City Fire Department was on the scene.
  • Officers were flagged down and informed of a group of juveniles in a local parking lot, acting unruly and attempting to swat at security cameras. Officers located the group and questioned them regarding their behavior. They all denied any attempts to break the security cameras and added they were just waiting for one of their mothers to pick them up.

  • Officers responded to a loud music complaint at a local parking lot. An officer found a juvenile inside the vehicle listen to the radio turned up while his parents were inside shopping. A verbal warning was issued.
  • Officers were dispatched to a local residence regarding a civil matter between a tenant and landlord. Upon the officer’s arrival, the two parties had come to an agreement and settled the issue. Case closed.
