The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week.  The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.

● Deputies were dispatched to a Sherman Township home on the report of two siblings involved in an altercation.  Upon arrival the scene was secured, however one of the participants had left the scene prior to the deputies arrival.  The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed.  This case has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charges.

● While on patrol within Marion Township a deputy located a disabled vehicle, which was parked on the side of the roadway with the driver still present.  Through investigation it was discovered that said driver had a valid Osceola County warrant issued for their arrest.  The driver was then taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● While on patrol within Leroy Township, Deputies encountered two suspicious subjects who were on the side of a roadway.  Through investigation it was discovered that one subject was in possession of suspected marijuana, and was in violation of their probation.  At that time said subject was taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● A deputy was dispatched to an Evart Township adult foster care home on the report of an assault and battery complaint.  Upon arrival the scene was secured, and through investigation it was discovered that a resident had assaulted a staff member.  At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● While on patrol within Osceola Township, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an expired license plate.  Through investigation it was discovered that said operator was driving on a suspended license.  At that time the operator was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Evart and Osceola Townships.

● Deputies were dispatched to an Orient Township residence on the report of a littering complaint.  Upon arrival the deputies were shown an area where someone had dumped a large amount of tires on the complainants property.  The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed.

● Deputies were dispatched to Richmond Township on the report of a vehicle traveling south bound in the north bound lane of US-131.  Upon arrival the deputies located said vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop.  Through investigation it was determined that said operator was unfamiliar with the area, which was the contributing factor for his careless driving.  At that time said operator was issued a citation for his actions, and was released from the scene.

● Deputies investigated five vehicle crashes, which occurred within Lincoln, Middle Branch, Sylvan and Orient Townships.

● A deputy was dispatched to a Richmond Township business on the report of a breaking and entering complaint.  Investigation reveled that an unknown subject(s) entered the business and removed and undetermined amount of money from the cash register.  The deputy completed his investigation and cleared the scene; this investigation is ongoing.

● While conducting stationary radar within Leroy Township, Deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding.  Through investigation it was discovered that said operator was driving their vehicle without insurance, and also had a valid Mecosta County warrant issued for their arrest.  At that time the operator was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

● Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes, which occurred within Orient, Hersey, Rose Lake and Richmond Townships.

● Deputies were dispatched to the report of a suspicious vehicle, which was parked in a Marion Township parking lot.  Upon arrival the vehicle was investigated, and it was determined that no criminal activity was afoot.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens to report any and all suspicious activity that is observed within their neighborhoods, and to contact the sheriff’s office if you have any information pertaining to the above complaints.

● Deputies were dispatched to a Leroy Township home on the report of someone dumping sewage on the roadway.  Upon arrival the deputies spoke with some subjects of interest, along with contacting the Department of Environmental Quality.  The deputies then cleared the scene once their investigation was completed.
