Osceola County Sheriff's report

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week.  The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on two Sherman Township vehicles for littering. Through investigation, the deputies determined that the two operators of said vehicles were driving while intoxicated, and also arrested a passenger for obstructing an investigation. All three subjects were transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital on the report of a domestic assault complaint, where the hospital was on lock-down, as the suspect was in the parking lot. Upon arrival the scene was secured and the hospital was opened. Through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur, however the venue was outside of Osceola County. At that time the deputies assisted the Michigan State Police with said investigation, which included arresting the aggressor.

Deputies investigated a one-vehicle crash and two-vehicle crashes with injuries. Incidents occurred within Rose Lake, Burdell and Hersey Townships.

Deputies were dispatched to a Highland Township residence on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

A Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Leroy Township vehicle for a speeding violation. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving their vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. At that time the operator was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

A Deputy was dispatched to a Highland Township home on the report of a larceny complaint. Through investigation the deputy discovered that someone had entered the complainant’s home and vehicle and took a total of $80 dollars in cash. The complaint also developed a suspect in this matter. The deputy completed his investigation and is in the process of locating the suspect.

Deputies were dispatched to a Sylvan Township home on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to a Marion Township home on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to an Orient Township home on the report of a disorderly subject complaint, as a subject was destroying items inside the residence. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, and through investigation it was determined that said subject was suffering from a mental illness. At that time said subject was taken into protective custody and was transported to Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital for a mental evaluation.

A deputy was dispatched to a Lincoln Township home on the report of an assault complaint. Upon arrival the deputy secured the scene, and completed his investigation which included interviewing the suspect in this case. At that time the deputy cleared the scene once his assistance was no longer needed, and forwarded this report to the Osceola County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.

A deputy assisted the Make a Wish Foundation with traffic control for their annual bike ride, which passed through Hersey Township. The assist was completed without incident, and upon completion the deputy returned to patrol within the county.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Burdell Township vehicle for several traffic infractions. Through investigation it was determined that the operator was violating their restrictions on their driver’s license and the passenger was in possession of suspected marijuana. Both subjects were issued misdemeanor citations for these offences and were released from the scene.
