Osceola County Sheriff's Report for Nov. 18 to 22

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week.  The following is a brief summary for some of that activity which occurred.

11/18

  Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Middle Branch Township for an equipment violation.  Through investigation the deputies determined that said operator was driving their vehicle while under the influence of drugs.  The operator was then arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

  Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes which occurred within Richmond, Middle Branch and Marion Townships.

11/19

  Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Reed City on the report of reckless driving.  Through investigation it was discovered that said operator was operating their vehicle while intoxicated (3rd offence), operating while license suspended and was in possession of an open intoxicant.  The subject was arrested without incident and was transported to the Osceola County Jail, where he was additionally charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

  Deputies were dispatched to Middle Branch Township on the report of a single unit vehicle crash.  Upon arrival it was discovered that said vehicle ran off the roadway and went into the ditch.  Further investigation revealed that said operator was intoxicated; therefore the driver was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

11/20

  Deputies investigated a damage to a mailbox complaint, which occurred within Evart Township.  Upon arrival the deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

11/21

  Deputies investigated two assault complaints, which occurred at a Sylvan Township detention home.  Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, and through investigation discovered that two residents assaulted each other.  The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene.  Both reports have been sent to the Prosecutor’s Office for charges.

  Deputies were dispatched to a Rose Lake Township home on the report of a residential alarm.  Upon arrival the scene was secured and the home was found to be secure.

  Deputies investigated five vehicle crashes.  Incidents occurred within Middle Branch, Sylvan, Richmond and Osceola Townships.

  Deputies were dispatched to a Rose Lake Township home on the report of a breaking and entering to a vehicle complaint.  Upon arrival it was discovered that someone had entered the victim’s vehicle and took prescription medication.  The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

  While conducting stationary radar within Sylvan Township, a deputy conducted a traffic stop for a speeding infraction.  Through investigation it was discovered that a passenger within said vehicle had valid warrants issued for their arrest.  At that time the subject was taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

11/23

  Deputies were dispatched to a Richmond Township home on the report of a poaching complaint.  Upon arrival the deputies discovered the complainant heard one shot from a firearm and then observed a vehicle leaving the area.  The complaint also observed a “blood trail” where said vehicle was leaving, and the complainant was also able to record a registration plate from the suspect vehicle.  At that time the registered owners information was obtained and deputies confirmed evidence of the poaching complaint on the suspect vehicle which was parked at their residence; however all attempts to speak with the owner were unsuccessful.  The deputies documented their efforts and cleared the scene; however this case is open pending contact with the owner of the vehicle.

  Deputies investigated a harassment complaint, which occurred at a Marion Township business.  Upon arrival the deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

11/24

  While on patrol within Middle Branch Township, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a speeding infraction.  Through investigation it was determined that said driver was operating without a valid driver’s license.  The driver was issued a misdemeanor citation for this offence and was released from the scene.

  Deputies investigated 3 vehicle crashes, which occurred within Middle Branch, Richmond and Burdell Townships.
