Osceola County Sheriff’s Report, Sept. 9-15
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week. The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.
Deputies were dispatched to a business, within the village of Marion, on the report of an audible alarm. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, and discovered that an employee had failed to deactivate the alarm, after receiving a delivery. The deputies cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed.
Deputies were dispatched to the village of Marion, on the report of a suspicious vehicle complaint. Upon arrival the deputies patrolled the area; however said vehicle was not located.
Deputies investigated 6 breaking and entering complaints, which occurred within Middle Branch, Hartwick, Sylvan and Osceola Townships. Through investigation the deputies have developed suspects, and are continuing their investigation into this matter.
* The sheriff’s office received creditable information on the location of a subject, who had valid warrants issued for their arrest. The deputies responded to Osceola Township, and took said subject into custody without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to Burdell Township on the report of an assault and battery complaint. Upon arrival the deputies began their assault investigation when the suspect pulled into the victim’s driveway. The deputies secured the scene, and discovered that said subject was operating their vehicle while intoxicated. The suspect (on the assault) was arrested for operating while intoxicated, and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident. The victim in the assault case did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Marion and Osceola Townships.
Deputies arrested two subjects on valid warrants, which were issued out of Osceola County. The subjects were secured and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence, within the Village of Marion, on the report of a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival the deputies determined that said person was a danger to themselves and others; therefore said subject was taken into protective custody and was transported to Reed City Spectrum Health for a mental evaluation.
A deputy investigated the report of a sex offender failing to update their address. Through investigation it was discovered that said suspect reported to be living at an address within the City of Reed City, however the investigation revealed otherwise. The deputy completed said investigation and said report will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for charges.
Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Sylvan and Highland Townships.
Deputies were dispatched to Evart Township on the report of an assault complaint. Through investigation it was discovered that an assault did occur; therefore the investigation was completed and the report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charges.
Deputies were dispatched to Richmond Township on the report of a suspicious vehicle complaint. Upon arrival the deputies secured their scene and determined that said operator was operating their vehicle while intoxicated and while their license was suspended. The subject was taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County jail without incident.
Deputies were dispatched to Osceola Township on the report of a cow in the roadway. Upon arrival the deputy’s located said cow, which was out of the pasture area. The deputies also spoke with neighbors, who advised this is an ongoing issue. At that time the owner of said cow was located, the cow was placed back in the pasture and the owner was issued a citation for an animal at large.
