Osceola County Sheriff's Report, March 18-24

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week. The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.

March 18: A deputy conducted a traffic stop within Osceola Township for several traffic infractions. Through investigation it was determined that the operator was operating their vehicle while intoxicated, operating on a suspended license and was transporting open intoxicants. The operator was then arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Orient Township on the report of a larceny complaint. Upon arrival the deputies discovered that an unknown subject took 32 gallons of gasoline from said business. The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene. This case is open pending review of the security footage.

March 19: Deputies were dispatched to the City of Evart on the report of an in progress domestic assault. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and determined that an assault did occur between a couple involved in a domestic relationship. The deputies then arrested the aggressor and transposed them to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

A deputy was dispatched to Sylvan Township on the report of a damage to vehicle complaint. Upon arrival the deputy discovered that someone was potentially targeting the complaints vehicle by vandalism. The deputy completed his investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

March 20: Deputies were dispatched to Evart Township on the report of an assault and threats complaint. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and determined that said complainant was assaulted by the suspect, and the complainant then threatened the suspect with a knife. The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene. This report has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charges.

Deputies were dispatched to a business within the village of Tustin on the report of an audible entry alarm. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, and discovered said building to be secured. The deputies then cleared the scene without incident.

March 21: Deputies were dispatched to Middle Branch Township on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured, and it was determined that the aggressor had fled the scene on foot; however an assault had occurred between two subject involved in a domestic relationship. The deputies then cleared the scene and this report has been forward to the prosecutor’s office for charges.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence within the City of Evart, on the report of a suspicious complaint. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, and located a suspect involved in a prior assault complaint. That suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident, and the suspicious complaint was unfounded.

March 22: Deputies were dispatched to Hartwick Township on a check-well being complaint. Upon arrival the deputies made contact with the subject, who was in violation of their probation. At that time the deputies attempted to arrest said suspect, however an altercation ensued, and the taser was deployed. The suspect was then secured and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

A deputy conducted a civil stand-by complaint, which occurred within the city of Reed City. Upon arrival the deputy stood by while the complainant received some personal items from their employer. The deputy then cleared the scene once his assistance was no longer needed.

March 23: A sergeant was dispatched to a business within Evart Township on the report of an audible alarm complaint. Upon arrival the sergeant discovered a subject on scene, who advised they were an employee, and their pass word had been changed. At that time the sergeant verified said employee’s credentials, and cleared the scene without incident.

Deputies assisted the Reed City Police Department with two horses, which were running loose within the city. The deputies cleared the scene once the horses were contained, and their assistance was no longer needed.

March 24: Deputies were dispatched to a residence within Lincoln Township on the report of a violation of a bond conditional release complaint. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and discovered that said suspect, had unlawfully taken a vehicle, was intoxicated and involved in a crash, had illegally entered a residence and was in violation of their probation. The suspect was then arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
