Evart Police Report 10/22 to 10/27

  10/22 An officer was dispatched to a welfare check. The individual was found to be secure. An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a call.   10/23 An officer took a found property report (trailer plate). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.   10/24 An officer took a found property report (woman’s white & purple Pacific bicycle). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner. An officer was dispatched to a suspicious vehicle that was parked in the parking lot of a business that was closed. The officer made contact with the owner who advised the vehicle was broke down. An officer was dispatched to a business reference a disorderly person complaint. The officer made contact with the suspect who was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.   10/25 An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a trespassing complaint. The suspect left the residence prior to the officer’s arrival. An officer was dispatched to a parking complaint. Upon arrival the officer spoke to all parties involved and advised them of the City’s ordinance.   10/26 An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a harassment complaint. The officer spoke to all parties involved and advised them to avoid contact with each other.   10/27 An officer was dispatched to a residence to assist a citizen with a firearm that was found in their residence. The firearm was turned over to the officer and was secured at the Police Department. An officer was dispatched to a business reference a complaint of retail fraud. The officer made contact with the suspect who was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges. An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a call. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a party involving minors. The officer issued several tickets for minors in possession of alcohol.  

Reed City Police Report 10/22 to 10/28

  10/22 Officers investigated a juvenile complaint at a residence in the city. A joint investigation with Child Protective Services in being conducted in reference to inappropriate actions between two juveniles. Officers were called to the Community Mental Health office to assist with a subject. Officers were disregarded while enroute. Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a complaint of someone shooting people with parking lot with a plastic air gun. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the complainant and a possible suspect. Officers responded to a pharmacy for a disorderly subject refusing to leave. Officers arrived on scene and the subject was escorted off the property and given a warning without incident. Officers were called to the hospital for a disorderly subject. It was discovered that the subject was in violation of his bond conditional release and his probation order and was placed under arrest. Upon being transported to the patrol until the subject resisted and attempted to flee from officers. Physical force was needed to get the subject into the vehicle. The subject was then transported to and lodged at the Osceola County Jail with an additional charge of resisting police. Officers were called to the City Garage for a complaint of kids playing at the property. Upon arrival the subjects were gone. Officers on patrol located a subject trespassing on property that a No Trespass Order had been issued for. The subject was given an appearance citation and released.   10/23 Officers were called to a business for a disorderly juvenile’s complaint. Upon arrival the subjects were gone. Officers were called to the school for an out of control special needs student. Upon arrival the subject calmed down and was talked to by officers. Officers responded to a residence for a verbal domestic. Upon arrival the parties were talked to and given a warning. Officers were called to the hospital for a possible criminal sexual conduct complaint involving a juvenile that occurred over a month ago. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. Officers responded to a residence for a complaint of someone entering the complainant’s house and leaving a key ring inside. It was determined that the complaint was unfounded; the complainant suffers from mental illness.   10/24 Officers were called to the school to talk to a student about inappropriate actions on the playground. The child was talked to as well as his parents.   10/25 Officers responded to a private property damage accident in the parking lot of the High School involving two vehicles. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed. Officers investigated an abandoned vehicle at a business in the city. Officers assisted the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Department with locating a subject that was wanted in questioning for a larceny that occurred in Newaygo County.   10/26 Officers observed a subject driving that did not have a valid license but were not able to make a stop on the vehicle at the time. A warrant request was submitted to the City Attorney’s office seeking an arrest warrant. Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The subject became hostile, confronted the officer and chest bumped him. The subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without further incident. Officers were called to a residence for an assault between two subjects. Upon arrival it was determined that the complainant had three outstanding warrants out of Osceola County for Contempt of Court. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail. A warrant request was submitted to the City Attorney’s office for the assault. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that a passenger in the vehicle had a warrant for assault out of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.   10/27 Officers served numerous abatement notices for leaves being placed into the roadway. The property owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken. Officers responded to a suspicious complaint. The complainant stated that there was someone inside a business that was closed. Upon arrival it was determined that it was an employee and everything was ok. Officers were called to a business for a suspicious situation. The called stated that someone is loitering around the business. Upon arrival it was determined that the subject was having car troubles and was waiting for a friend to come.   10/28 Officers were called for a be on the lookout for a vehicle being all over the road on US 131 North bound. Officers located the vehicle inside the City Limits and attempted to perform a traffic stop and the vehicle fled. A pursuit followed and officers were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Wexford County Sheriff’s Office and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. The driver crashed near the ramp for exit 176 and then fled the vehicle on foot. Troopers from the Michigan State Police deployed a Taser and the subject was taken into custody. It was determined that the driver was driving a stolen vehicle from Battle Creek and had placed an improper license plate on the vehicle. The driver was charged with fleeing and eluding police, Operating While Intoxicated Third Offense, Driving While License Suspended 2nd Offense, Possession of Marijuana as well as an outstanding warrant for Probation Violation. The subject was lodged in the Osceola County Jail without further incident. The name of the subject is being withheld pending arraignment. Officers responded to an apartment complex for a larceny of a cell phone complaint.
