Evart Police Report — 9/17 to 9/23

09/17 An officer was dispatched to a one-car property damage accident. There were no injuries. While on patrol, an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges. An officer was dispatched to assist a business. The officer secured the building and cleared the scene without incident. An officer was dispatched to a welfare check of minors consuming alcohol. The case remains open pending further investigation.   09/18 An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a civil standby. The officer cleared the scene without incident. An officer was dispatched to a criminal sexual conduct complaint involving a minor. The case remains open pending further investigation. An officer was dispatched to a business reference an alarm. The officer searched the building, the surrounding area and found everything to be secure. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a larceny complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation. An officer was dispatched to a business reference a civil dispute. The office contacted the manager of the business and advised that the matter was internal.  
09/19 An officer was dispatched to a two car property damage accident, there were no injuries.   09/20 An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a complaint. An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on locating an individual. While at the residence the officers located a controlled substance. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on a possession of a controlled substance charge.  
09/22 An officer took a found property report (glasses). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.   09/23 An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a suspicious situation complaint. There were minor children not being supervised. The officer advised the mother of the children that the children need to be supervised at all times.  

Reed City Police Report — 9/17 to 9/23

09/17 Officers arrested a subject with an outstanding warrant for Military Desertion. The subject was lodged at the Osceola County Jail to await pickup by the U.S. Army. Officers assisted Wexford County in locating a suspect vehicle that was possibly at a residence in Reed City. Officers checked the residence and the vehicle was not there. Officers responded to a Car/Deer accident on E Church St. Officers arrived on scene and there was no damage to the vehicle.   09/19 Officers responded to a found bike complaint on Rails to Trails. The bike was taken into safe keeping until claimed by the owner. Officers were dispatched to a residence for a harassment and threats complaint. The complainant stated that he was being harassed by an ex-boyfriend of a co-worker of his. The complainant reported numerous threatening voicemails and that the suspect has showed up to his house. A report was completed and submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.   09/20 Officers handled a walk-in complaint for a larceny of a bike. The complainant stated that someone stole his bike the night before. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. Officers located a subject at an apartment complex that had an outstanding warrant for assault and for contempt of court. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers assisted the Michigan State Police and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department at a residence in Evart where subjects were fighting and two subjects were stabbed. Once the scene was secure the officer resumed patrol duties within the city. Officers responded to a residence for a prowler complaint. The complainant stated that she thought she heard someone on her porch. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate anyone.   09/21 Officers assisted the Lake County Sheriff’s Department in the security of a state prisoner being seen in the hospital until additional Lake County deputies could arrive. Officers were called to a residence for a well being check on a juvenile. Officers arrived on scene and determined that everything was OK. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was determined that the driver had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear out of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers responded to a residence for a fraud complaint. The complainant stated that someone had attempted to use her card number at a website. The transactions were cancelled by the bank before they had posted. A report was completed. Officers on patrol located a subject at her residence that had a five count felony warrant for fraud. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers on patrol located an open gate at a business in the city. The property owner was called to secure that gate.   09/22 Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers on patrol located damage to a shed at the Reed City High School. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. Officers were called to an apartment complex for a noise complaint. The subjects were located and given a verbal warning.   09/23 Officers were dispatched to a residence for a larceny complaint. The complainant stated that the suspect had taken his clothing from the residence and scattered it along a three block radius. Most of the property was recovered and some of it was damaged. A report has been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office seeking an arrest warrant. Officers were dispatched to residence for a noise complaint. The subjects were lo
