Reed City Police Report — 9/10 to 9/16

Officers were called to a business for two men yelling at each other in the parking lot. Upon arrival the parties were separated. No assault had taken place and both parties were given a warning for disorderly conduct.
Officers were dispatched to a residence for a security alarm. Upon arrival it was determined that a family member accidentally set the alarm off.
Officers responded to the 200 block of W Upton Ave for a minor personal injury accident involving a car and a bicycle. A report was completed; there was minor damage and minor injuries to the bicyclist.
A subject came into the department to report that a cabinet was taken from her yard. A report was completed.
Officers responded to an apartment complex for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant advised that someone had put sugar and water in his gas tank. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without a license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers responded to a two vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of W Upton Ave at Higbee St. There were no injuries and minor damage. A report was completed.
Officers were called to the High School for a student smoking in the bathroom. Upon arrival the offender was not able to be located.
Officers assisted Troopers from the Michigan State Police Hart Post in locating a subject in Reed City and delivering an emergency message.
Officers on patrol issued a grass abatement notice to a property owner for overgrown grass. The property owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
Officers on patrol located a subject with two outstanding warrants for his arrest for stalking and probation violation. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
Officers assisted the US Army in attempting to locate a subject with a felony warrant for military desertion. Officers checked the residence and determined that the suspect was no longer living there. Officers are on the look out for the suspect.
Officers were called to W Church St at S Higbee St for a disorderly subject who was hindering traffic. Officers located the subject who was found to be in possession of marijuana. A report is being submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.
Officers on patrol located a suspicious vehicle at a closed business. The vehicle was checked.
Officers were called to a residence for a domestic assault. The complainant advised that her boyfriend had assaulted her. Officers spoke with the witnesses and statements were obtained. The suspect was located at another residence and interviewed. A report was completed and submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for an arrest warrant.
Officers issued three separate vehicle abatements for dismantled vehicles parked on properties. The owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office on a traffic stop where the driver was being arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Officers were called to a residence for a barking dog complaint. The dog owner was located and given a warning.
Officers responded to an apartment complex for a larceny of two bicycles complaint. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
Officers located an injured deer in the roadway of US 10 near Wild Turkey Trail. The deer was put down and removed from the roadway.
Officers responded to a residence for a possible prowler complaint. The complainant stated that she heard someone in the basement. Officers arrived on scene and checked the residence, garage and surrounding areas and no one was found.
