Police Report

Nov. 14 to 20

Nov. 14: An officer was dispatched to a two car accident, there were no injuries.

An officer assisted the Department of Human Services (DHS) on an interview.

While on a traffic stop an officer identified the driver as operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, transported to the Osceola County Jail, and lodged on charges.

Nov. 15: An officer investigated a complaint of assault involving minors. The case remains open pending further investigation.

Nov. 16: An officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.

An officer investigated a complaint of Criminal Sexual Conduct. The officer spoke to the complainant, and the case was turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review.

An officer handled two (2) separate harassment complaints. The officer spoke to all parties involved and advised them to avoid contact with each other. These cases are closed.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check. The individual was found to be secure. The case is closed.

Nov. 17: An officer assisted the Department of Human Services (DHS) on two separate interviews.

Nov. 18: An officer was dispatched to a complaint of illegal dumping. The officer spoke to the complainant, and the case is open pending contact with the suspect.

An officer handled two (2) separate harassment complaints. The officer spoke to all parties involved and advised them to avoid contact with each other. These cases are closed.

Osceola County

Sheriff’s Report

Nov. 13 to 19

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week. The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.

Nov. 13: Deputies investigated 7 vehicle crashes and 1 vehicle crash with injuries. Incidents occurred within the City of Reed City, Rose Lake, Hersey, Richmond, Lincoln and Leroy Townships.

Nov. 14: Deputies investigated 6 vehicle crashes, which occurred within Leroy, Richmond, City of Reed City, Cedar, and Hersey Townships.

A deputy investigated a breaking and entering to a vacant residence, which occurred within the Village of Marion. Upon arrival the deputy discovered that someone had forced in several exterior doors to the residence, and also removed several items from the interior of said residence. The deputy completed his investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

Nov. 15: Deputies investigated 5 vehicle crashes, and 1 vehicle crash with injuries. All incidents occurred within Richmond and Highland Townships, and the City of Reed City.

Deputies investigated a larceny from a building complaint, which occurred within the Village of Marion. Upon arrival the deputies discovered that someone had taken several lottery tickets, and through investigation the deputies were able to identify the suspects in this incident. This case is open pending interviews and charges.

Nov. 16: A deputy investigated a malicious destruction to a vehicle complaint, which occurred within the City of Reed City. Through investigation the deputy discovered that someone had used a marker and written graffiti on said vehicle. The deputy completed his investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

Deputies investigated 3 vehicle crashes, which occurred within Highland and Burdell Townships, along with the City of Reed City.

Nov. 17: Deputies investigated 9 vehicle crashes, and 1 vehicle crash with injuries. Incidents occurred within Richmond, Sherman, Marion, Burdell, Middle Branch, Osceola, Hersey Townships and the City of Reed City.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence within Richmond Township on the report of a suspicious situation, as a vehicle was seen parked alongside a vacant residence. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and discovered that said person was waiting for a realtor to show them the property. The scene was then cleared after the subject’s credentials were verified.

Nov. 18: Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Evart Township for numerous equipment violations. Through investigation the deputies discovered that said operator was operating their vehicle without a valid driver’s license and without insurance. The operator was then taken into custody and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to an active residential alarm, which occurred within Richmond Township. Upon arrival the residence was found to be secure, and the scene was cleared without incident.

Deputies investigated 2 vehicle crashes, and 1 vehicle crash with injuries. All incidents occurred within the City of Reed City and Burdell Township.

Nov. 19: Deputies were dispatched to a residence within Cedar Township on the report of a possible argument between 2 subjects. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and arrested the complaint for being a minor in possession of alcohol. The subject was then transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies investigated 5 vehicle crashes, and 1 vehicle crash with injuries. All incidents occurred within Highland, Richmond and Marion Townships, and the City of Reed City.
